Details: Product Description Marc Déry Amazon.ca Marc Déry hits hard with this self-titled debut: the former Zébulon lead singer offers a unique and highly refined musical universe. His lyrics are powerful: "Bon Bord" tells the unvarnished story of a cruel joyride by intolerant youths, "Poisson d'avril" speaks of vacations with levity, and "Ninanu," written in collaboration with Florent Vollant, immerses us in the world of the Innu people. Daniel Bélanger lends his pen to two songs on this impeccably produced album by Déry. Déry reunites with his Zébulon bandmate Alain Quirion, with whom he co-composed all the music. The intricate soundscapes throughout the album—thanks in part to the contributions of DJ Pocket—give it a great deal of unity. But it is Marc Déry's captivating voice that strikes the listener right away. Whether he is whispering or shouting, his clear tone, while not particularly original, is always pitch-perfect. A thoughtful and perfectly mastered work. -- Diane Jean
