An eminent scientist discovers that his employers have chosen to use his invention, a robot initially developed for humanitarian purposes, for military purposes. Feeling betrayed and abused, he steals a copy that breaks during his failed escape. The robot is then recovered and repaired by a little boy of twelve. They will both team up to try to save their respective parents, held prisoner by the scientist's enterprise.
