Aboard the Diego Star, a dilapidated freighter sailing on the St. Lawrence in the middle of winter, a major incident occurs. Quickly, Traoré, an Ivorian mechanic, is unfairly accused. The boat is towed to the nearest shipyard for repair. In the meantime, the crew is hosted by the inhabitants of this small white town. Far from his family and his landmarks, Traoré then sinks into the Quebec winter...
