Openly referring to Alfred Hitchcock's film I confess, the story alternates between 1989 and 1952, the year Hitchcock shot his film in Quebec. After studying for three years in China, Pierre Lamontagne returns to his hometown for his father's funeral. Living in the old family apartment, he tries to find Marc, his adoptive and homosexual brother. Through a series of flashbacks, in skilful filmic effects, a mirror relationship is established between the two eras. The secret of the 1952 confession reflects the secret of the Lamontagne family on the origins of his brother. It is ultimately Marc's lover who holds the key to this mystery.
