Details: Product Description Quebec-Montreal: 250 km of asphalt, thirty nine-something travelers, four cars, one destination. The journey becomes an opportunity to share points of view about life and discuss troubling questions about existence. Highway 20 forms the backdrop for the sometimes hilarious, sometimes complicated situations between three south-bound friends who discuss ideal love, the quest for romance between two ambiguous office colleagues, the appearance of passion from a picture perfect couple versus the daily-grind suffered by another young couple and their pending break-up. The two hours in the transit along the winding thoroughfare of love set a collision course for grating simultaneous reality-checks and deep reflections about where life has taken you and the roads that is will take you on in the future. Amazon.ca The bet was risky: to take stock of the state of the Quebec couple in 2002. Ricardo Trogi, who had been very noticed during his participation in La Course destination-monde, has tackled such a challenge and has managed to seduce the public and critics with its first feature film. Québec-Montréal has also won four Jutra awards, including best film, as well as three awards at the Namur Festival in Belgium, including the Bayard d'or for best screenplay and the Special Jury Prize. What do an endearing couple in crisis, two flirtatious co-workers, three friends going on vacation and a sparkling pair looking like Ken and Barbie have in common? All in transit in their car on Highway 20, the passengers pass the time by discussing romantic relationships and illustrate, thanks to comic and cynical situations, various aspects of the relationships between men and women approaching their thirties. Taking advantage of the monotony of the journey that connects the capital to the metropolis, Trogi succeeds in a popular and accessible “road comedy”, although a bit superficial. If he relies on sometimes heavy stylistic effects, his film is spiced up with delectable dialogues (and very raw at times). The rich and colorful characters are wonderfully interpreted by young talents (Isabelle Blais, Julie LeBreton, Stéphane Breton, François Létourneau), brilliantly directed. Québec-Montréal is a generational film in the form of an exercise in trendy and dynamic style, which could have been better if it had gained in finesse. --Helen Faradji Special Features In the Ditch (bloopers) Actors and Actresses Screenwriters' Commentary Track Photo Gallery trailers
