Details: Product description The cast (the blood-pack) is awesome. They're a group of vampires teamed up with Blade to take out a new breed of monster which feeds on humans and vampires Amazon.ca After the bitter failure of Blade, New Line studios had the good idea to entrust the production of the second episode of the bloody and stylized adventures of the vampire hunter to the director of Mexican origin Guillermo del Toro, noted for his horror film El Espinazo del Diablo. Struggling with a mutant line of vicious vampires, who feed on their fellow creatures, Blade (Wesley Snipes) is forced to form an alliance with his lifelong enemies: the vampires themselves. The prey become allies, but should he really trust them? References abound in Guillermo del Toro's film. From Alien to The Matrix, via From Dusk Till Dawn and Tiger and Dragon, the kinship with all that action cinema has given the best is obvious, without the result being quite up to par. Although the fight scenes are choreographed to the millimeter, the lighting meticulously crafted, the camera movements as smooth as those of a snake, and the hero, who is neither in lace nor in feeling, perfectly in control, there seems to be something missing from this Blade II in the form of an ultra-graphic and ultra-violent comic book. A little soul, perhaps? --Helen Faradji
