Details: Amazon.ca After Mezzanine, a dark and melancholy album haunted by the vocals of Horace Andy and Liz Fraser of the Cocteau Twins, nothing is going well between the three members of the Bristol-based trip-hop cantor Massive Attack, namely Daddy G ., 3-D and Mushroom. Ego struggles and self-destruction among other things make their paths separate temporarily and that at the time of the release of 100th Window, five years after the previous one, and whose title refers to a book by Charles Jennings and Lori Fenner, alone Robert Del Naja, alias 3-D, is in charge of training. To be more precise, we will add that he is assisted by Mezzanine's faithful sound engineer, Neil Davidge, whose importance is paramount here. Several years were necessary for the development of this ambitious opus, awaited and constantly postponed, because often the initial project has evolved, or even been taken from scratch – there was even a question at one time of publishing the result of improvised jam sessions with musicians from the psychedelic group Spiritualized. Musically, the nine tracks that make up this disc (plus a long bass line at the end) reflect the atmosphere of the 00s and the trauma following the events of September 11, 2001. Without going so far as to speak of activism, the lyrics encourage openness to others rather than paranoid withdrawal into oneself. A luxury guest, the committed Irish Sinéad O'Connor sings on three tracks, including the stunning single "Special Cases". This fourth album proves to be as inhabited as the previous ones, its creeping dub rhythms bewitching to never let go. --Herve Comte Product Description Massive Attack
