Details: Amazon.ca It was on scores by Georges Brassens that Maxime Le Forestier, a teenager, was introduced to the guitar. These are songs of his own that, as a young singer, he performs on the terraces of cafes. It is thanks to him that, in 1972, he made his first scene at Bobino which propelled his career to success. Hardly surprising then that the disciple paid his master many tributes throughout his career. But this one is very special. Since Le Forestier performs there twelve songs that Brassens had written in 1981, the year of his death. Not only had he never recorded them, but some had even remained unfinished. It was Jean Bertola who set them to music in 1982. It was Maxime Le Forestier who brought them, in 1996, all his instinctive sensitivity. In guitar-voice versions of a magical sobriety that he records at home with an obvious and immediately shared pleasure. For a superb album commensurate with the talent of two great artists of French song. --Sylvie Devilette
