Details: Amazon.ca With 650 songs to his credit, Charles Aznavour can boast of being one of the most creative songwriters of his generation. The French Sinatra draws his inspiration from newspaper articles, books, films, and stories of friends, loves, and troubles. Using humor to take the edge off and love to set (himself) on fire, the artist retains the passion of a young lead when it comes to describing women – "My gal is built like a Formula 1... She warms up fast and takes off in a flash" ("La Formule un"). Faithful to himself and his style, in Aznavour 2000 he blends jazz and nostalgia more than ever ("Qu'avons nous fait de nos vingt ans?", "Elle a le swing au corps"...). Between a quirky mambo ("Je ne savais pas") and the sensuality of a twilight blues ("On m'a donné"), the arrangements by Yvan Cassar (also producer of Claude Nougaro's "Embarquement immédiat") elegantly dress these future classics. --Valérie Dupouy Product Description New Album From French Legendary Crooner.this Album Was Produced By Yvan Cassar Who Produced Johnny Halliday, Claude Nougaro and Mylene Farmer Among Others.
