Details: Product description Godhead ~ 2000 Years of Human Error Amazon.ca Washington DC's Godhead are the first signing to Marilyn Manson's Posthuman Records, which should come as no great surprise. Just look at them: frontman Jason Miller looks a bit like an angry Uncle Fester, all shaven of head and leather of bodysuit, while the rest of the band wear as much eye makeup as all of Charlie's Angels (except they're, you know , angrier). But listen to 2000 Years Of Human Error, and the merit of their music shines through their cartoonish appearance. Blending eighties synth-pop with 21st-century industrial metal, 2000 Years sounds like where Nine Inch Nails might have been headed after Pretty Hate Machine if Trent Reznor had only taken the happy pills instead. Sure, song titles like "I Sell Society" and "I Hate Today" are as bleak as anything by their nu-metal peers, but songs like "The Reckoning" and "Inside You" have an unmistakable pop decadence that's more Duran Duran than Ozzy Osborne. That doesn't just set Godhead apart from their peers; it places them ahead. -- Robert Burrow
