Details: A great blues wave will soon sweep over the city and the province as the 2014-2015 tour of 22 CÂLINE DE BLUES, the new show by Mario Saint-Amand and his Saint-Amand Blues, kicks off. In the show 22 CÂLINE DE BLUES, Mario Saint-Amand tells us with his usual enthusiasm the little stories behind his own pen as a songwriter and that of the poets who made him want to write. From the mythical Câline de blues by Pierre Harel to the scorching Je chante comme un coyote by Pierre Huet, lyricist of Beau Dommage, through The eyes of the heart by Jean Hould, Ayoye by lyricist/actor André St-Denis and Toujours vivant from Michel Rivard, we will “bluese” to the immense poets Gilbert Langevin (La voix que j'ai) and Denise Boucher, whose stunning Un beau grand bateau will become Gerry's hymn to love. Halfway between modernity and tradition, the Saint-Amand Blues, directed by Alain Sauvageau, offers an experience that leaves no one indifferent. Mario Saint-Amand's first album will be released on January 28, the date of the return to Montreal. The tour will be launched on January 28, 2014 at the Théâtre St-Denis and on January 30 at the Théâtre Petit Champlain, on the occasion of the Montreal and Quebec seasons. Mario Saint-Amand and his Saint-Amand Blues will then hit the road to offer a series of performances throughout the province, stopping in particular at the Maison de la culture in Gatineau (March 7), the Théâtre du Vieux-Terrebonne (April 3 ) and at the Maison des arts in Drummondville (April 18).
