Black Desire / 666.667 Club - CD (Used)
Author: Noir Desir
Format: Live
Release Date: 11-03-1997
Details: Amazon.ca Here, it is certainly a question of fury, but in a more internalized way than on Tostaky. Where the Bordelais let loose and offered a punchy previous opus produced by an American fan of hardcore, Noir Désir opposes a more mature and thoughtful work which, on first listening, seems more peaceful but paradoxically no less inhabited. The commitment of the leader in his fight against the National Front that he sings on "Un Jour en France" testifies to this. Noir Désir, after hardly more than ten years of career at the time of the recording of this disc, remains faithful to its line of conduct. An ethic that positions his songs somewhere between those of Miossec on Drink and the disheveled rock of the group Prohibition. Note the presence of jazz saxophonist Akosh S. to whom Cantat will return the courtesy by accompanying him. --Hervé Comte
