DiMaso pushes them into a world of Jersey powerbrokers and mafia. Con man Irving Rosenfeld and his mistress and accomplice Sydney Prosser are forced by an FBI agent to work with the police to nab a politician. Rosenfeld's mission is to appease Mayor Carmine Polito and then get him to accept corrupt money. Irving however quickly discovers that Carmine is not a bad person and that Agent DiMaso wants to catch the politician red-handed just to boost his reputation.
