Guerilla Poubelle / Amor Fati - CD (Pre-owned)
Author: Guerilla Poubelle
Format: Remixes included
Release Date: 14-01-2014
Details: There is no longer any need to introduce GUERILLA POUBELLE, which has now become one of the major benchmarks of Francophone punk-rock IN Europe, with a debut album that has sold over 20,000 copies and nearly 320 concerts in 4 years (France, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Quebec, Japan, England...). The band has set a standard and united an entire scene around them; needless to say, their highly anticipated new opus is shaping up to be one of the major events of the season in France. Joined since the beginning of 2007 by Alex (ex-Leptik Ficus) on drums, the quartet worked hard on its new repertoire, creating around twenty songs in a few months. Recorded during the summer "at home," the 16 tracks of "Punk = Existentialisme" are teeming with fast-paced and agitated gems, resolutely punk-rock (2 minutes on average), with lyrics that remain offensive and dark, such as "Y'a pire ailleurs" or "Tapis roulant." Note the presence of Olivier (Dead Pop Club) and Alex (Justine), invited to sing on "Un éléphant dans une porcherie" and "Dans la diagonale," as well as new versions of two prominent tracks from the band's beginnings, "Génération" and "Etre une femme," which had previously only appeared on demos. The first album, available in France since October 29, 2007, was released in Canada and Quebec in April 2008 and includes 3 bonus tracks as well as a computer video file, which is a documentary about the French punk band. The success of this opus was immediately felt by the Quebec audience.
