Details: Product Description Canadian edition of 1995 album for the French Canadian chanteuse. For fans of Jane Birkin & Serge Gainsbourg. 11 tracks. Amazon.ca After the failure of Giorgino, the film by her Pygmalion and accomplice Laurent Boutonnat, in which she played the female lead, Mylène Farmer left France for California. It was in Los Angeles that she recorded her new studio album. An album with a new style that marks a turning point in her career. Less dark than its predecessors, it also differs in its musical tone: a rock style readily tinged with grunge, which ultimately suits the singer's universe very well. Wounds of the soul and of love, the flight of time remain her favorite subjects, as evidenced by the hits "XXL" and "L'Instant X." Meanwhile, having lost none of her taste for erotic provocation, she offers an evocative "Eaunanisme," supported by an Abel Ferrara music video where she appears as a prostitute. Decidedly unconventional, Mylène Farmer proves once again and for the better, with Anamorphosée, the sulfurous originality of her creative approach. --Sylvie Devilette
