Details: Amazon.ca Bernard Lavilliers is unrivaled when it comes to blending and mixing genres. For him, everything is a matter of touch. An alchemist of swaying rhythms in ochre and red hues, he invites us to share his long nocturnal wanderings. These stops in Brazilian and Cuban lands are like encounters where one crosses paths with the gazes of women. The gaze of "Saudade," mistress of musicians, or "Iracema," the barefoot goddess who gives herself to the desires of men. And then, there is "La Dernière Femme," the chosen one dressed in leather and silk. The one who makes you forget all the others. In this twenty-third album, the serenity of the globetrotter sometimes gives way to the paradox of cruelty. A zoom on a world dictated by the law of the strongest where bad boys ("L'Empire du milieu") make pacts with unscrupulous speculators ("Les Tricheurs"). The cover of "Les Feuilles mortes" in a salsa version brings a light conclusion to this dark universe. --Valérie Dupouy Product Description 2001 Release from this French Pop Superstar, who is Not Far Behind Jonny Hallyday in Popularity.
