A traditional repertoire carried by warm voices from Canada's Maritime provinces, Grand tintamarre ! bears witness to a vibrant and poetic heritage by drawing from the roots of French song. The 15 pieces that make up this book-and-CD are carefully selected, and a pleasure to discover or rediscover. They include, among others, Dans la prison de Nantes, À la claire fontaine, and Partons la mer est belle, which came from France and spread throughout Acadia over centuries, gaining renown in North America. A nostalgic and enchanting musical invitation.
