Asian Dub Foundation / Punkara - CD
A fifteen-year-old London-based rap-rock collective strongly tinged with Indian influences, Asian Dub Foundation put a punk tiger in their world engine and released their loudest album to date. Everything here, or almost, is in the title, and it must be recognized that the color is announced from the outset. If Superpower , the third track of the new opus increases more slowly in power, Target Practice and Burning Fence , the first two, redouble their virulence. Closer to the sound that Asian Dub Foundation rocks live (and which earned it courting by the greatest - Radiohead, RATM, The Cure), Punkara is a veritable downpour of boiling oil and demonstrates that the mixing of genres remains a safe bet. The proof, Iggy Pop in person comes to contribute to a cover of No Fun , authentic cultural broth, which completes to pull this disc towards vertiginous and swirling summits.
