Details: Product Description 3 Doors Down Amazon.ca Building on the reputation they forged with their smash hit "Kryptonite" (from their debut album The Better Life), bolstered by high-energy live performances, 3 Doors Down now rivals Creed and Nickelback in the pantheon of pop/metal bands. Armed with a second album, Away From The Sun, produced by the legendary Rick Parashar—a collaborator of Pearl Jam and Alice In Chains—they impose their heavy-caliber rock, built on a heavy-roots rhythm section. Crafted in Seattle, the cradle of grunge, far from the southern banks of their native Mississippi, the 11 powerfully melodic compositions by the American combo marry melancholic choruses with swaggering guitar work. The intense timbre of singer-drummer Brad Arnold (who has just passed his drumsticks to Josh Freese, formerly of A Perfect Circle) fuels 3 Doors Down's rock with formidable lyricism. The proof is in the opening track and potential hit "When I'm Gone" or "Here Without You," a single that plays equally well with distorted riffs or piano chords. --Sabrina Silamo
