Details: Product Description The Foundation of Alexis Hk's Music Can Be Found in the Works of the French Founding Trio of "Chanson" (Jacques Brel, Georges Brassens and Leo Ferre). The Lyrics Are Deep as Well as the Music, Even Though Most of the Arrangements Are Signed by Olaf Hund (Founder of the Electronic Music Label "Musiques Hybrides"). Alexis Hk Wanted to Give a Warm Feeling to These Songs and Has Succeeded, Even Though He Has Trouble Identifying Just What Makes a Song Warm Or Not. "Belle Ville" is a Great Album that Will Remind You at Times of Serge Gainsbourg. Amazon.ca At almost thirty, Alexis Djoshkhounian, known as HK, declared in 1998 a "notorious antihero," still tells himself stories on the edge of the real and the fantastic. His little world, located near Belle Ville, is populated by wacky characters including Gaspard the flying dwarf, Mitch the wrestler, and the naughty toddler. Faced with the unbridled competition of octave-climbers, Alexis and his three sidekicks prefer to surround themselves with accordion, flute, double bass, acoustic guitar, and mandolin. A lover of homemade ditties tasted at the local bistro, a singer with a warm voice and an outstanding melodist, Alexis HK swings under the rule of Olaf Hund, a handyman and jack-of-all-trades well known to electro enthusiasts. And his Belle Ville, where gentlemen on bicycles and attentive grandmothers rub shoulders, is well worth the detour. Popular and refined. --Sabrina Silamo
