Details: Amazon.ca Youssou N'Dour is an ambassador. African music that, following the pioneers Manu Dibango and Fela Ransome Kuti, he participated in making known beyond the sole borders of his country. One of his most important voices at the end of the 20th century with Salif Keita, Mory Kanté and Geoffrey Oryema. One of the few to raise the colors of Africa so high. Like many of his colleagues, along the way he met Sting (with whom he campaigned for Amnesty International) and Peter Gabriel (whose RealWorld label is dedicated to publishing music from around the world). Youssou N'Dour became known by Graceland by Paul Simon and So, Gabriel's album precisely. Best Of mixes the nuggets of the one who campaigns for the decompartmentalization of genres (we owe him the famous "Seven Seconds" with Neneh Cherry, and "Birima" is a hit in Africa). Because if he made his voice heard in defense of the cause of immigrants and Mandela, Youssou is a musician who dreams of a global sound system where the boundaries between afro beat, soul and pop would be abolished.
