What sets the Vines apart is their stunning debut, and throughout a mind-blowing rocket ride to stardom and back to Earth, their ability to remain focused on the art of creating expansive sound. The Vines formed in Sydney, Australia in the mid 1990s - the inspiration of Craig Nicholls (lyrics/vocals/guitar), in collaboration with Patrick Matthews (bass/vocals) and David Joliffe (drums). Their attention-grabbing 2001 UK single, "Factory" shifted the band's career into top gear, resulting in contracts with Heavenly Records, UK and Capitol Records, US by the end of that year. The band's lineup has had changes due to the rigors of touring.
