Details: Born in Granby, Marie-Ève Roy has been a singer, guitarist, pianist and singer-songwriter for almost twenty years in the (legendary punk) group Vulgaires Machins. In 2013 after more than 900 concerts in Quebec, Europe etc., and seven studio albums, the collective decided to take an indefinite break. The desire to express her own musicality then pushes Marie-Ève to write words and music for a first solo effort under the name of Bleu Nelson. This opus, more minimalist and away from familiar grounds, is tinged with melancholy and personal reflection. It is the discovery of the Wurlitzer electric piano that will give birth to a unique and mysterious universe where the hushed atmospheres navigate between electronic rhythms and "vintage" sound. Julien Mineau (Malajube, Fontarabie), multi-instrumentalist, will be entrusted with the production of this first album. The songs will be recorded in the privacy of his collaborator's studio, in Ste-Ursule, during the year 2015.
