Details: A native of Granby, Marie-Ève Roy has been a singer, guitarist, pianist, and singer-songwriter for nearly twenty years with the (legendary punk) band Vulgaires Machins. In 2013, after more than 900 concerts in Quebec, Europe, and elsewhere, and seven studio albums, the collective decided to take an indefinite hiatus. The desire to express her own musicality pushed Marie-Ève to write the lyrics and music for a first solo effort under the name Bleu Nelson. This opus, more minimalist and away from familiar territory, is tinged with melancholy and personal reflection. It was the discovery of the Wurlitzer electric piano that gave birth to a unique and mysterious universe where cozy atmospheres navigate between electronic rhythms and a "vintage" sound. Julien Mineau (Malajube, Fontarabie), a multi-instrumentalist, was entrusted with the production of this first album. The songs were recorded in the intimacy of her collaborator’s studio in Ste-Ursule during 2015.
