Details: Product Description In March 2000, Bob Walsh released his newest project, Bob Walsh et le Quatuor à Cordes Allard recorded live in the fall of 1999. This latest album proposes a daring mix of Blues and strings amd is garnering excellent reviews from the critiques. His music is best described as a synthesis of rhythm and blues, folk and mainstream classic influences. Bob Walsh delivers a passionate performance guaranteed to captivate and exhilarate all generations of Blues enthusiasts. Amazon.ca Bob Walsh fell in love with a string quartet for a tour that was warmly received throughout Quebec. This singular encounter between a blues trio and a chamber music ensemble might, a priori, leave one skeptical. Yet, upon listening to the live album Bob Walsh et le Quatuor à cordes Allard, the alliance proves to be completely natural. Thanks to the arranging work of Jean-Fernand Girard, the quartet becomes an extension of Walsh's little musical world, knowing how to be omnipresent or discreet depending on the mood of the tracks. One does not emerge unscathed from listening to "Ma Toune," which is moving in a straightforward way, or the very personal interpretations of "Tes manières m'intriguent" and "Georgia On My Mind." With four bows to make his sensitive side vibrate, Bob Walsh—whose years spent in smoky bars have not tarnished his remarkable voice—appears to be at the top of his game. -- Nicolas Houle
