Details: Product Description Bori, Edgar Amazon.ca For his third album, Bori, the faceless singer, has decided to enrich his musical universe by exploring various styles. His deep, wavering voice here embraces rock, tango, folk, and country melodies. The enigmatic singer’s poetry loses neither density nor quality: the nostalgic song "Ti-Cul" skillfully evokes the world of childhood, the moving "Grande Vallée" depicts a Gaspé Peninsula that is aging poorly, while the humorous "Alfredo" recounts the misfortunes of a small-time crook. Counting on the co-production of Michel Rivard and the contribution of several renowned musicians, including Pierre Flynn and Alain Lamontagne, Bori achieves a fine balance between musical, poetic, and technical refinement. One might perhaps criticize the eclecticism and lack of unity in this self-titled album. It nonetheless remains the case that each track is a success in its own right. --Nicolas Houle
