Canailles put together their new album in two weeks in a chalet which is their home base and where they create between two tours. The group first thought of baptizing its 2nd opus The album of maturity , just to confuse the musical journalists a little, and to draw a parallel with its desire to go and see elsewhere if they were older. They will finally call it Roundabouts which perfectly illustrates the general atmosphere of come back well while going further. A sonic tribute to this event described here: “Creole dancing in a line under a 30 degree sun in the middle of winter, on the coast of a volcanic island in the heart of the Indian Ocean. Excerpt from Moments chosen from choice tours, a book that the group will write one day after La Bib' according to his father Dagniel Tremblay.
Canailles therefore produced Ronds-points with the help of Captain-impedeur-de-tourner-en-rond Éric Villeneuve at the Treatment Room, under the skilful hands of Gilles Castilloux (Angela Desveaux, Socalled, Plants & Animals). The album is also embellished with a horn section not stung by verses, made up of their usual but no less extraordinary collaborators Jérôme Dupuis-Cloutier (trumpet) and Benoit Paradis (trombone) , here joined by Charles Papasoff on baritone saxophone. And to add to the beauty, we also thank Guillaume Duchesneau and Sébastien LeBlanc on violins and a certain Jimmy Hunt , who here holds the record for the number of harmonica tracks recorded in one evening.
A very beautiful record that can be used as a soundtrack to watch the apoôôcalypse, as the other would say.
