Canailles put their new album together in two weeks in a chalet that serves as their home port and creative hub between tours. The band first thought of naming their 2nd opus L’album de la maturité ("The Maturity Album"), just to confuse music journalists a little, and to draw a parallel with their desire to go see elsewhere if they had grown any bigger. They ultimately decided on Ronds-points (Roundabouts), which perfectly illustrates the general atmosphere of returning to familiar places while moving forward. A sonic tribute to an event described here as: "Creoles dancing in a line under a 30-degree sun in the middle of winter, on the coast of a volcanic island in the heart of the Indian Ocean." Excerpt from *Moments choisis de tournées de choix*, a book the group will write one day after *La Bib’ selon son père Dagniel Tremblay*.

Canailles thus produced Ronds-points with the help of the "Captain-who-prevents-you-from-going-in-circles" Éric Villeneuve at the Treatment Room, under the skilled hands of Gilles Castilloux (Angela Desveaux, Socalled, Plants & Animals). The album is also embellished by a stellar brass section, composed of their usual but no less extraordinary collaborators Jérôme Dupuis-Cloutier (trumpet) and Benoit Paradis (trombone), here joined by Charles Papasoff on baritone saxophone. And to add to the beauty, we also thank Guillaume Duchesneau and Sébastien LeBlanc on violins and a certain Jimmy Hunt, who holds the record here for the number of harmonica tracks recorded in a single evening.

A very fine record that can serve as a soundtrack for watching the apôôôcalypse, as the saying goes.
