Details: Product Description Taha, Rachid Amazon.ca Since the beginning of his solo career in 1991, the provocative "Beur rocker" has never spared his audience, going from one surprise to the next. This compilation, Carte blanche, is an opportunity to take stock of the career of this atypical and captivating artist on the French scene. From the album Barbès, which marked his debut, to Diwan, as well as Olé Olé and Un, deux, trois, soleil, recorded with Khaled and Faudel, there is no shortage of sonic discoveries. Immersed in the world of funk from his early days, a style that would leave its mark on his creations, Rachid Taha offered up fusion rock with Carte de Séjour before flirting with other musical genres such as raï, oriental and Indian music, dance, acid jazz, and even rap. Inventive, surprising, outspoken, and gifted to boot, Rachid Taha shakes up musical trends as much as prejudices, and that is truly his strength. --Sylvie Clerfeuille
