Details: Amazon.ca The fifth Case Closed theatrical film, Countdown to Heaven (2001) reintroduces Conan's ultimate nemesis: Gin, the leader of the gang who turned teenage sleuth Jimmy Kudo into an 8-year-old boy. A series of murders derails the opening festivities for a high-rise office-hotel complex in Tama City, in southwestern Tokyo. Conan needs all his deductive powers to discover who killed a city councilman, a video game programmer, and an heiress--and why. The only clues are the sake cups found at the scene of each crime. Conan also needs to figure out why Ai is behaving so oddly and what links her to the murders and murderers. Mitch/Mitsuhiko, George/Genta, and Amy/Ayumi play more significant roles than usual: they actually help Conan solve the case instead of getting in his way. Countdown to Heaven begins on a deceptively innocuous note, as Dr. Agasa takes Conan and the members of the Junior Detective League on a camping trip. Director Kenji Kodama skillfully builds the tension to a spectacular climax that's more exciting than many live-action detective films.
