First known as the female half of Tricot machine, Catherine Leduc now presents Rookie, a luxuriously unfolding work with a fragile strength that captivates—a fountain in the ditch of the current folk movement. Dusting off her guitar, she takes the time needed to tame her new momentum and fully embrace her nature as a renewed singer-songwriter. The result, several months later, is Rookie, a debut album like a poetic journal, a beam of dream pop intertwining animals and sports analogies, a balsamic suite of magical folk.

An artist who does it all, Catherine Leduc does things her own way and strives to fill a void left by her peers. "It's like magical folk," she explains when asked about the sound of this solo album.
