Details: Amazon.ca Celtic Spirit is a true spiritual journey into the depths of the Celtic soul. Across twelve tracks, the ear is lulled by Gregorian chants "Celticized" by the clear, modulated voice of Connie Dover and the melodious turns of Phil Cunningham's bagpipes. The listener is seduced by the pearly notes of the Celtic harp in William Jackson's Latin chants and Aine Minogue's nativity plainchant, letting hushed whispers of prayer drift behind her reverent voice. It celebrates Christmas with Breton composer Jeff Le Penven. It honors a Virgin Mary with medieval hues via zither player Therèse Schroeder-Sheker, or a Mary who is simply a mother, whose feelings slip through the strings of Sheena Wellington. A true invitation to roam the sumptuous cathedrals and small cloisters of Ireland and Brittany. --Sylvie Clerfeuille
