Details: A literature graduate from the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières and son of a chartered accountant, he became an "inadvertently agreeable storyteller" after being lulled by the tales of his grandmother, his neighbor Eugène, and his father. Fred Pellerin has already produced four shows, each featuring an illustrious character from his village: Dans mon village, il y a Belle Lurette (2001), Il faut prendre le taureau par les contes! (2003), Comme une odeur de muscles (2005), and L’Arracheuse de temps (2008). The first was performed more than six hundred times in France and Quebec and earned him a bronze medal at the Jeux de la Francophonie in 2001. The second opened the doors to cinema for him with a screenplay commission for a film based on the main character, Babine; the third reached the ears of over 150,000 spectators across more than 450 performances; and the fourth was certified FREDisq, a custom double-platinum ticket award, to celebrate the sale of over 200,000 tickets in Canada and Europe. It was this last show, in fact, that opened doors for him in France, where he performed more than 70 sold-out shows in Paris and over 250 performances throughout the European Francophonie. In 2008, Fred received the Félix for Traditional Album of the Year for the album Fred et Nicolas Pellerin. In November 2009, Fred Pellerin released what became a must-have in Quebec: his solo album, Silence. It went gold just two weeks after its release, then platinum two weeks later! To date, more than 140,000 copies have been sold! Silence also earned him the Félix for Folk Album of the Year at the ADISQ gala, in addition to a nomination at the 2011 Juno Awards for Best Francophone Album of the Year. Silence, Fred's last album, was his first solo project. A lover of music, but above all of words, Fred had chosen several texts by authors he admires for that album: Gilles Vigneault, Félix Leclerc, Manu Trudel, David Portelance, and Gérald Joly, to name just a few. For this second solo album, Fred Pellerin once again turns to fellow authors, who offer him magnificent, never-before-heard texts, but he also presents 5 new original tracks of his own.
