Details: A graduate in literature from the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières, the son of a chartered accountant, he became an "inadvertently pleasant storyteller" after being lulled by the stories of his grandmother, his neighbor Eugène and his father. Fred Pellerin has already behind him four shows, each taking an illustrious character from his village as its hero: In my village, there is Belle Lurette (2001), Il faut taris le roue par les contes! (2003), Like a Smell of Muscles (2005) and L'Arracheuse de temps (2008). The first was presented more than six hundred times in France and Quebec and earned him a bronze medal at the Jeux de la Francophonie in 2001. The second opened the door to cinema for him with a script commission for a film from the main character Babine, the third crossed the ears of more than 150,000 spectators and more than 450 performances and the fourth was certified FREDisq, double platinum house ticket, to crown the sale of more than 200,000 tickets in Canada and in Europe. It is moreover this last show which opens the doors to him in France where he cumulates more than 70 sold-out performances in Paris and more than 250 performances within the European Francophonie. In 2008, Fred received the Félix for the traditional album of the year for the album Fred and Nicolas Pellerin. In November 2009, Fred Pellerin released what has become a staple in Quebec: his solo album Silence. Gold disc only two weeks after its launch, then Platinum disc two weeks later! To date, more than 140,000 copies have been sold! Silence also earned him the Félix for folk album of the year at the ADISQ gala, in addition to a nomination for the 2011 Juno awards, for the best French-language album of the year. Silence, Fred's last album, was his first solo opus. A lover of music, but above all of words, Fred had chosen for this album several texts by authors he admires: Gilles Vigneault, Félix Leclerc, Manu Trudel, David Portelance and Gérald Joly, to name a few. For this second solo album, Fred Pellerin turns again to fellow authors, who offer him magnificent and never heard texts, but he also offers 5 new pieces of his own. Touching, solid, vibrant pieces. True to his habit of reaching out to his audience with the power of his words, Fred will also make hearts vibrate thanks to his voice which cannot help telling and to a magnificent orchestration, signed Jeannot Bournival (Fred and Nicolas Pellerin and Silence). This new album, which goes even further musically and poetically than the previous one, will easily bear the mention "essential". "C'est un monde" is a little more of Fred Pellerin, a musical encounter with the storyteller, who offers us a small place in his world.
