Details: Product Description Bori, Edgar Amazon.ca Edgar Bori gets a change of scenery on his fourth album. Exit the old accomplices: the faceless singer now doubles as author, composer, performer, arranger, and producer. As a result, his dense and eclectic universe, where the innocence of childhood played a starring role and serious reflections were veiled in subtle poetry, is transformed. With Changer d’air, Bori is indeed interested in describing urban reality quite bluntly, offering a view that is not very nuanced, even didactic. The renewal is also present musically: the singer has surrounded himself with a new team of musicians (Jean-François Groulx, Norman Lachapelle, Tony Albino) to try his hand at jazz, Brazilian rhythms, and electronic music. His warm, deep voice is more discreet, sometimes drowned in the musical flow, while his melodies go straight to the point. Fans of the enigmatic artist may be unsettled by this turn. But with repeated listens, they will learn to discover another Bori, more vulnerable and perhaps more human, with his strengths ("Ce sont", "I hate you patron") and his weaknesses ("Vos papiers", "Les Ados"). -- Nicolas Houle
