A prominent scientist discovers that his employers have chosen to use his invention, a robot initially developed for humanitarian purposes, for military ends. Feeling betrayed and used, he steals a prototype, which breaks during his botched escape. The robot is then recovered and repaired by a twelve-year-old boy. The two will team up to try to save their respective parents, who are being held prisoner by the scientist's company.
