Details: Young David lives a happy childhood until his mother marries Murdstone, a bully who feels no sympathy for the boy and places him in a school where he is abused. When his mother dies, David is sent to London to work in squalid conditions. He runs away and goes in search of an aunt he has never seen. She will welcome him and watch over him. Having received a good education, he will succeed in finding a job with an attorney, whose daughter he will marry. Meanwhile, Agnes, the daughter of the family who took David in as a college student, struggles to keep Uriah Heep, a devious clerk, from getting her hands on the family business. Who will win? David is very attached to Agnes and he will eventually understand that his feelings go beyond just friendship… Of all the works he wrote, David Copperfield is the one that Charles Dickens preferred. Largely autobiographical, this story is also the one that has won the greatest success with its readers. Wonderful BBC production starring: DANIEL RADCLIFFE, BOB HOSKINS, MAGGIE SMITH and IAN MCKELLEN
