For their second album, John Milchem and company have cooked up a thinking man's style of punk rich in the tradition of the prophets before them like Richard Hell & the Voidoids, The Minutemen, Husker Du, Mission Of Burma and others. Although they equally flirt with the swagger of garage rock they hardly pose in matching suits. Starvin Hungry actually bring something new to the table through the use of alternately tuned guitars and unusual chord changes while still keeping the primal, raw energy of The Stooges and The Dirtbombs.
