But the humorist's inexhaustible popularity quickly caught up with him, bringing him to various stages across Quebec. His always intelligent and biting monologues evolved considerably over the course of some 400 performances. It is one of the final versions of this show, recorded at the Corona Theatre, that we find on the double disc Comment ça, 2000… 2001… 2002?. Even if he must now warn his audience that his statements are those of a character and not his own, Deschamps is far from letting himself be muzzled by political correctness. His remarks on the end of the world, baby boomers, the elderly, or relations between ethnic communities provoke as much genuine laughter as they do reflection. Because the humorist always knows how to strike the right chords to address social concerns with a lightness that hides an astonishing depth. Composed mostly of new material, the album also contains nods to old Deschamps texts, such as "La Création," "Les Dangers," and "La Peur."
