The Brothers on Horseback / Ç'pas grave - CD (Used)
Author: The Brothers at Ch'val
Release Date: 01-06-1997
Details: Amazon.ca Just the right mix of country, rock and French chanson, Ç'pas grave stands out for the quality of its melodies and music, which are always catchy. A hit first album for the Frères à Ch'val, formed by the duo Polo and Thibaud de Corta as well as three other accomplices, including Mara Tremblay. "L'Été", a summer hymn to the city, becomes a classic, "Ma belle Barbie", with its hypnotic violin lines, hints at Mara Tremblay's solo career, while "Le Génie dans la Bouteille", which combines epic story and elaborate arrangements, serves as a template for many of the band's songs. To these pieces are added interesting covers, notably "Intoxicated Man", by Gainsbourg, and "Cauchemar", popularized by Charlebois. In all, Ç'pas grave has 15 songs, all pretexts for the party, which charm as much by their interpretation, full of freshness, as by their content, neat without being laborious. --Nicolas Houle Product description (15 tr.)
