Details: Amazon.ca After successful incursions into very different styles, it is with the detective film, his favorite genre, that the legendary actor and talented director Clint Eastwood has decided to reconnect in his 23rd film, Blood Work (Blood Credence) , adaptation of Michael Connelly's bestseller. Following a difficult investigation, the formidable FBI agent Terry McCaleb must undergo a heart transplant. Two years later, when he is enjoying a well-deserved retirement, a young woman asks him to return to work to elucidate the murder of his sister, donor of the heart that beats in McCaleb's chest. Loyalty and love of the profession will lead him in the footsteps of a particularly devious psychopath, the “code killer”. Even if he appears more and more aged with each of his achievements, Clint Eastwood, 72, continues to refine his image of a solitary vigilante with a big heart, thanks to his incredible charisma and his impenetrable gaze. Although faithful to the scheme of an ultra-classic detective film, sometimes reminiscent of the legendary Dirty Harry, Blood Work can still count on a fairly effective dramatic progression, supported by a fluid and sober production. A film that evokes the feeling of slipping into worn slippers, of course, but which we know are comfortable. --Helen Faradji
