Details: Product Description D'autres Rives is Bruno Pelletier's fourth album. This new release follows Miserere (1997), which sold over 225,000 copies in Canada alone and achieved double-platinum certification. D'autres Rives was produced in Montreal and Paris, with production handled by Serge Perathoner, Jannick Top, and Bruno Pelletier. Collaborators on the tracks include such songwriters and composers as Luc Plamondon, Richard Cocciante, Roger Tabra, Daniel Lavoie, Dan Bigras, and Richard Séguin. Amazon.ca D'autres rives features a Bruno Pelletier in peak vocal form. Recorded partly in France and partly in Montreal, his fourth album is being released at a time when the performer is enjoying great success in France. It features music by Richard Cocciante, composer of the show Notre-Dame de Paris, in which the singer triumphed. Pelletier's powerful voice is well showcased, at times wrapped in placid rock, at others highlighted by softer melodies. Richard Séguin wrote the tender "Se rêver," where the piano delicately accompanies Pelletier and backup singer Kim Richardson. Lyricist Roger Tabra (who also writes for Luce Dufault and Éric Lapointe) once again teamed up with Dan Bigras for the song "J'ai essayé," which prominently features the bandoneon of virtuoso Romulo Larrea. The bagpipes in "Le bon gars et le salaud" are another pleasant discovery. D'autres rives provides a beautiful setting for a voice that impresses, without necessarily breaking new ground. --Diane Jean
