Details: Amazon.ca True to their habit of quality work without compromise, Les Chiens continue and refine with Debout the demanding approach begun in La Nuit dérobée. For over a decade, the Montreal trio formed by Éric Goulet, Nicolas Jouannaut, and Olivier Renaldin has strived to establish a style that has struggled to win over a wider audience. Rawer than their previous album but no less soaring, Debout is a happy marriage of sensitive and dark lyrics, expressive guitars, and electronic arrangements. On it, Goulet sings of disappointed loves, life's hardships, and existential solitude. The result is a lingering scent of urban melancholy where the spleen, however, does not exclude a certain light. "Everything is worth nothing/I am so well/Riveted to the evening of your gaze." When rock and poetry get along well. --Pascale Millot Product Description Les Chiens
