Details: Product Description Dion,Celine Amazon.ca Céline Dion wanted to make a record that reflects who she is. So she asked female writers, from both sides of the Atlantic, to write custom songs for her, each evoking an aspect of her life, a facet of her personality: the diva, the mother, the lover, and especially the lover. Françoise Dorin, Janette Bertrand, Denise Bombardier, Lise Payette, or Marie Laberge—these women of head and heart took up the challenge to chisel lyrics that fit the Quebec diva like a second skin. Then the musicians—Érick Benzi, David Gategno, Jacques Veneruso, Gildas Arzel—set their easy ballads and upbeat pop to these women's words. Jean-Jacques Goldman oversaw the whole project. With classic arrangements, a mastered voice, and emotion that sometimes breaks through, D'elles has neither the originality nor the power of D'Eux, which remains to this day the best-selling and best of Céline's albums. However, the Quebec performer has succeeded in her gamble: this record is a true reflection of her. Fans will follow, that is for sure. --Pascale Millot
