Details: Product Description Treble Charger Amazon.ca Were there any justice in the music biz, bands like Treble Charger would be clocking mega sales like the Foo Fighters or fellow countrymen Sum 41. Detox is a forceful pop album that combines punk power with soaring emo-core choruses; it's as good as any rock album out there. The well-crafted, honest songs never sound patronizing and the band easily avoids the clichés that the latest crop of pop-punk purveyors have pinched from Green Day. Perhaps its Treble Charger's age and experience (the band has been putting out albums since the mid 1990s) that accounts for its dynamic ability to sound current without having to resort to musical thievery. This whip-smart four-piece clearly has a soft-spot for bands like Hüsker Dü and Superchunk and vocalist/guitarists Greig Nori and Bill Priddle aren't afraid to wear their hearts on their sleeves. The duo are, in fact, Treble Charger's greatest asset, providing an abundance of thick, slashing guitar chords and strong, melodic vocals. The two voices, distinctive and complimentary, create immaculate harmonies that would make Cheap Trick proud--bold, clear and powerful. To single out any single song for praise on this remarkable 11-song CD would be to overlook another equally good track. There's just not a bad--or even mediocre--tune on this CD. If there were any justice, Treble Charger would be topping the charts and Sum 41 would be carrying their equipment for them. --Adem Tepedelen
