4 years after High Class Trauma, his first effort sung in English, Franck Deweare, a native of Verdun (France) and an expatriate in Montreal since 2000, returns with a second eclectic album, written in French.

From the very first bars of MES SEMBLABLES, he reconnects with the trading of influences, cinematic arrangements, and sonic detours that earned him significant critical success back in 2007.

In this new album, his pop-rock continues to meander through polychromatic latitudes, where guitars, strings, brass, and sequencers merge; where fuzz pedals accompany a children's choir.

With a voice that isn't really a voice, Franck Deweare evokes his fellow man. He doesn't frequent many of them, but he knows them all and paints a razor-sharp portrait of them (and himself). His words are sometimes bitter, but "I'm not that cynical," he quips in Laisse Aller.

Two distinguished guests mark out this new album. Ariane Moffatt, a godmother by default, provides backing vocals as precise as the law in Le tumulte and Le métro. Also Erik Truffaz, a compatriot and solar trumpeter, who blows a polymorphic and mystical solo on Darwin.

With Mes semblables, we find a Franck Deweare still as eager to surround himself with the best Montreal has to offer. Rock, grunge, jazz, pop, electro, symphonic... in the end, a made-in-Montreal album that doesn't sound like Montreal.
