Details: Amazon.ca Actor-singer, Jacques Dutronc has more than 130 songs to his credit in more than ten albums and a role in some thirty films. The artist is undoubtedly one of our most complete French talents... Not bad for someone who lives in Corsica and claims a way of life identical to that of its inhabitants! Born in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, a few blocks from the neighborhood where a certain Jean-Philippe Smet, alias Johnny Hallyday, will also grow up, Jacques Dutronc attends a school of industrial design. In 1962 he became the guitarist of the group El Toro and the Cyclones (signing a hit taken over by Françoise Hardy... before they met), then that of Eddy Mitchell at the same time as he found himself artistic assistant at Vogue . He then had fun singing the texts of the writer-journalist Jacques Lanzmann. The sequel is known. From 1966, Dutronc is a star. Recorded in November 1992, this live at the Casino de Paris summarizes the character and his career well by inflicting on the songs a welcome but not essential facelift. It also marks Jacquot's great return to the stage in Paris for four weeks: a triumph with 620,000 records sold and a Victoire de la Musique as best show of the year in 1993. Directed by Dominique Blanc-Francard (Bowie, Souchon, Dick Annegarn...), there are many successes that have counted, such as those of the beginnings: "Et moi et moi et moi", his first hit from 1966, "J'aime les filles", or "La Fille of Santa Claus" whose super-microgroove won the Charles-Cros Academy prize, or even "Les Cactus". We also savor "The Opportunist", a title from 1968, which will have waited for this live to experience the deserved success. Note, among these 19 songs, tunes from the 80s including the sulphurous "L'Hymne à l'amour (Moi l'noeud)", written with Gainsbourg (1980), or "Merde in France" (1984). Finally, we note in the credits the name of Anne Segalen (Lanzmann's wife) for "It's five o'clock, Paris wakes up" and "Lullaby", and that of the writer Linda Lê for two unpublished works: " The soul mate" and "Enter M'sieur in humanity". --Alexander.
