Details: For a long time, France and Spain fought over this island that Christopher Columbus, upon reaching the new continent for the first time, had named “Hispaniola.” The conqueror was dazzled by the island's charms: white sand beaches as far as the eye can see, mountain ranges with steep peaks, immense forests, lakes, plains, deserts, extremely diverse vegetation, and exceptional wildlife. Five centuries later, the Dominican Republic still offers its charms to visitors. The scents of yesteryear now mingle with those of sugar cane, tobacco, and merengue. To help you better discover all the facets of this magnificent island in the Greater Antilles, Pierre Brouwers has also filmed it from the sky and offers fascinating aerial sequences in this DVD Guide.
