Details: Lucien, a fourteen-year-old teenager, does not understand why his father, a serious and respected schoolteacher, makes a fool of himself, in his eyes, in an amateur clown act. One day, André, his father's best friend, reveals the origin of this vocation to him... He tells him that at the end of the war, they both committed a trifling act of resistance, but were captured by the Germans and thrown along with two other companions in misfortune into a dungeon while waiting to be executed... Through this story, Lucien will discover the bravery and brotherhood that his father hides behind his humility.
