Details: Les Ekorches was created by four legends of the metal scene in Montreal. Mark Vaillankourt (BARF) on vocals, Michel 'away' Langevin (voivod) on drums, Philippe Mius d'entrmont on cello and Pat Gordon (ghoulunatics) on acoustic guitar. Four pillars of the Quebec scene merge to create acoustic hardcore-metal in French. They play with their guts, shout their hatred, strike with a power to strip the walls. It's gotta stir... and with their eponymous debut album on the independent Indica Records label, Les Ékorchés are ready to offer you the biggest "Shot ça yeule" of 2007. These knowledgeable musicians have been criss-crossing the music scene for more than 20 years. They cleared the paths of the underground scene in Quebec and internationally with their respective groups. They share the same passion for hardcore metal in addition to feeling the need to portray the problems of society they face in an original way. And there you have it, a "brush", an impromptu phone call, a chance encounter... and Les Ékorchés were born. It's .screamer Mark Vaillankourt of the defunct hardcore band BARF; on drums none other than Michel “.Away” Langevin of legendary psychedelic-metal band Voivod; on amplified acoustic guitar, the intense Pat Gordon of the indescribable Ghoulunatics; and on the cello, the passionate Philippe Mius d'Entremont of the eclectic Maruka formation. A hundred thousand places from wanting to create a commercial project of four rockers, these stage beasts simply want to have fun and convey their lucid message entirely in French. The pleasure of reconnecting with oldschool hardcore and delivering it using acoustic instruments is an idea that has been running through Mark Vaillankourt's head for 15 years. He found raging sidekicks to bring raw lyrics to life, mixed with a unique, raging, high-performance sound. Les Ékorchés do not hide the violence in the content of their texts with evocative titles like D'la meat cé walls, Shot ça yeule, Haine or even Amourir... but according to Mark: "I think that I have always a positive message. I denounce the “shit”. It is not by closing our eyes that we will succeed in changing the world. I can't talk about it without adding a "sacre", because I don't understand the behavior of pedophiles and killers... my way of expressing it is by giving them "shit". In the extract La Poly, the rage of the heart is directly vociferated at the author of the massacre: "... what could have happened to you to want to kill them all... until kel not they hurt you to want to get rid of them... the world is screaming, they are panicked, you wanted to massacre them all... now that your blood is spattered, there's no one to mourn you; there remains just behind you a handful of broken families...” The fifteen screams of the album represent realizations concerning the gloomy and pathetic atmosphere that the group observes every day. For Away: “It's our way of getting involved by denouncing the growing problems, because what happens locally also happens in all the big cities of the world. And this liberating fury, Les Ékorchés are preparing to spread it across the province as of February 27 thanks to their impressive network of acquaintances. The trust granted by Indica represents for them the best way to remain honest and honest with their roots and move forward because they are aware of the ephemeral waves of the musical environment despite the impressive resurgence that is emerging. Their philosophy is simple: they do what they have to do and see where this “acousticore” adventure takes them. One thing is certain, they want to give fans "the biggest punch in the face they've eaten all year!" » Recorded and mixed in October at the Multisons studio with producer Glen Robinson (Voivod, Probot, AC/DC
