Details: Amazon.ca The cohesion of this Berry group is based on the association of the Ledoux brothers, Johan and Guillaume, and four other thieves. Born in 1990 in the bosom of the Clash, the band automatically subscribes to marathon tours, the shortest way to convey without embellishment the emotion contained in their instinctive anthems, collected around energetic guitars. Because at a time when electronics are at the top of the charts, Blankass remains faithful to a certain tradition of rock'n'roll, the one all fired up that smells of beer and sweat. This uncompromising attitude earned them two nominations for the Victoires de la Musique in 97 and 98, and in no way undermined the authenticity of their assertive statements. Blankass then moved to the countryside to record the eleven tracks of his second album, The era of nothing. This ambitious disc mixes rock and French song, the formula consisting in integrating banjo, mandolin, piano and accordion to the magnitude of the guitars. The alliance works wonderfully and allows these born jugglers to transcribe with sincerity all the power of their stage dimension. Because Blankass manages to keep it simple and accessible while challenging the traditional patterns of French rock music grammar. - -Sabrina Silamo
