The quintet trades a guitar for a second bass and deploys heavy artillery on this darker, more nuanced second album. Exploring the conflicting relationships between the wild side of human nature and its organized civility, Fauve is a varied rock work, where the sounds of two basses, guitar, saxophone, and keyboards merge to play with the ear and drape impressionistic lyrics in a heavy, acidic atmosphere with grunge undertones. Produced by Ariel Coulombe and mixed by Pierre Girard. Twisted electro-alt-rock meets dark, melodic French lyricism. On this adventurous and slightly grungy second album, Fauve, the guys and girls of ARIEL explore the conflictual relationship between man’s savage impulses and its organized civility. From a whisper to a scream with pounding drums, inspired guitar tones, haunting keyboards, and two nasty basses, mixed by Pierre Girard.
