Details: Amazon.ca Revisiting the work of Félix Leclerc by looking for the roots of anger: this is the challenge set by Pierre Harel, Michel Bessette, Michel Lamothe, Johnny Gravel, Roger Belval and Bob Champoux, former members of the Corbeau, Offenbach or Corbach groups. Félix enrage was first a show, given during the Francofolies de Montréal, in the summer of 2001. The 12 songs selected for the disc, among the most beautiful of Le Fou de l'île, all carry more restrained than explicit, a feeling of revolt against the injustice or the cruelty of the world. If certain pieces, such as “L’Alouette enrage” or “Tu ignites ma nuit”, of tender craftsmanship, respect the spirit of Félix to the letter, other tracks such as “Le Galérien” or “Cent thousand ways to kill un homme” take on a resolutely more rock tune here. The deep voice of Pierre Harel lends itself marvelously well to the universe both serious and light of Leclerc. The whole thing can be heard as a beautiful tribute to the work of Félix who, without ever distorting it, brilliantly brings out the engaged dimension. --Pascale Millot
